Abstract
One of the principal factors in the great improvement in quality and the increase in number of pure bred sheep in Kentucky during the past six years has been the Kentucky Accredited Pure Bred Sheep Breeders' Association. Both this organization and the Kentucky Sheep and Wool Growers' Association are the outgrowth of extension activities in sheep improvement work and both are unique among American sheep associations, not only in method of organization but in the degree of success they have obtained.
Organization of Pure Bred Breeders
The Kentucky Accredited Pure Bred Sheep Breeders' Association, as the name implies, is strictly an accredited organization of pure bred sheep breeders. It admits to membership only those breeders of pure bred sheep who have reached a high standard of perfection in their flocks .and continues them in the association only so long as they maintain such a standard. At the present time a breeder who has twenty pure bred registered females of approved quality and who has been breeding sheep for two years and is a member of a national registry association in good standing may be eligible for membership.
