Report of the Special Committee on Biological Abstracts

Abstract

This committee was appointed in June, 1925, to assist in the formulation of policies and in the selection of section editors and collaborators for the new journal, as well as to render any other assistance which might be requested. During the past year the committee has not been called on and, therefore, it has had no duties.

Thinking that the progress of Biological Abstracts would be of interest to the members of the Society, Dr. J. R. Schramm, editor-in-chief, was asked for any information which he thought would be of interest. In reply to this request Dr. Schramm sent to the committee a letter giving a brief report of the present status Biological Abstracts and a copy of his report to the Union of Biological Societies as of Nov. 1, 1927.

Over 5,000 journals are now reviewed by the editors from available sources in Philadelphia and from the Department of Agricultural Library.
