Abstract
During the two years that this work has been actively pushed,' a somewhat different feeling has been found among the farmers of the state who have small herds of beef cows. They talk more hopefully, they are taking better care of their cows, selecting better bulls, feeding their calves and marketing them without the loss of milk fat. In the majority of cases they are getting a good return for their labor. They are marketing their feed through their cows and calves, putting the manure back on the soil, keeping their rough land in pasture, maintaining the fertility of their farms and are practicing a diversified, safe and sane type of farming.
