Abstract
It is a great pleasure to attend this complimentary banquet. It is my privilege to speak of Professor Curtiss and his associates, more particularly the delightful-brotherhood that meets around the table of the International Livestock Exposition. There I think you see Curtiss at his best. When there is a difficulty or a serious question to answer, we send an S. O. S. to Curtiss and when he has spoken our difficulties disappear.
While I knew Curtiss long before International days', my great intimacy has come in the past 25 years. I believe that the great characteristic of his life is loyalty to his friends and his ideals, his life work at the college and his love of home.
Brother deans and college men, will, I am sure, forgive me for saying that our guest tonight is the foremost man in American Agriculture. He has done much for his state, much for his country.
