Dean Curtiss and the Student Body

Abstract

I have a deep sense of the privilege of being permitted to speak about "Dean Curtiss and the Student Body." I am conscious that there are many in this room fully equipped and ever ready to give voice to feelings of appreciation and gratitude to our leader and teacher. In a much larger way Ames men the world over are giving expression to this sentiment by their life work, voicing their appreciation by putting forth their best efforts to live up to the ideals and principles instilled under the guidance of Dean Curtiss.

The "student body" is not at Ames alone. It is not confined by time to the four-year term or even by any institutional fences. The Curtiss student body is broader than that. I think we never will grow beyond his teaching; I know we will never lose our appreciation ; I hope we will never fail to have the satisfaction which lies in the fact that his counsel is always ours.
