Abstract
My talk must of necessity be much more limited than the title given it, first because of the limited area covered on our European trip, and second because of limitations of time. Outside of Great Britain the best opportunity for observation was in Denmark, and it will probably be most profitable to compare some of the Danish cattle and swine breeding methods with our own, which are directly descended from, and on the whole most similar to, those of Great Britain. It should be stated that our observations in Denmark were confined entirely to the island of Zealand and what I shall say about Danish cattle applies entirely to the Red Danish breed.
Dairy Breeding in Denmark
Broad generalizations are always dangerous and often inaccurate, but it is perhaps safe to say that the spirit of the fancier has characterized British and American breeders and their methods more than has generally been the case on the continent of Europe.
