Desirable Factors in Animal Husbandry Instruction

Charles S. Plumb

Ohio State University

Abstract

There are many factors which make for efficiency in instruction, and especially so if research work in some form has a part in the course of study. As most of us are aware, the modern trend in education has brought to the service of the teacher a variety in system, method, and equipment whereby instruction may be materially improved. It has been my privilege to serve the needs of students in Agricultural College class rooms for 35 years, and much that I have to offer is based on this as a background. The field for discussion is a large one, and many phases of the subject of efficient instruction might be considered to advantage, but in the limited time allowed emphasis might better be placed on a few things of importance.

Qualifications of Teacher

The most vital factor in our whole educational scheme is the teacher. Certain individuals have attained great distinction as teachers.
