Report of Committee on Terminology of Feeding Experiments

H. J. Waters, H. W. Mumford and W. J. Kennedy

Abstract

Your committee to which was referred the matter of terminology of feeding experiments begs leave to report that it lias considered the matter of the definition of terms relating to:

  1. The market classes of animals.
  2. The condition of the animal.
  3. The breeding, quality, temperament and age of the animal.
  4. The gains made and the changes in the form of the body.
  5. The finish of the animal.
  6. Physiological and chemical changes in the body, including the use to which the animal has put its food.
  7. Feed, environment, climate and seasonal influences.

It is recommended that the committee be enlarged so as to include five members instead of three, and that the president of the society be authorized to add two members to the committee.
