Abstract
A rapid, volumetric procedure was described for the determination of purified wood cellulose in studies with rumen microorganisms in vitro. The volumetric procedure gave as good an estimate of the cellulose present in the fermentation flasks as the gravimetric procedure. The inherent variability of the rapid, volumetric procedure was the same as that of the gravimetric procedure.
