Aureomycin Effects—Growth and Digestibility Studies with Identical Twin Calves

G. I. Pritchard, J. A. Newlander and W. H. Riddell

Vermont Agricultural Experiment Station

Abstract

Aureomycin increased the growth rate and improved the efficiency of feed utilization of young calves until eight weeks of age. A 7-day collection period at the end of the 8-week growth period showed practically no differences in the digestibility of dry matter, ash, protein, crude fiber, nitrogen-free extract or fat when aureomycin was included in the ration.
